So, the SUV is combining traditional petrol unit with an electric battery. The classic mill is a 2.-l 4-cylinder powertrain, which made engineers drop a 2.5-l unit. The smaller engine offers better fuel economy, while its emissions are meeting standards. Nissan Leaf and Hi-Cross are sharing electric motor. It is a compact Li-ion battery pack, which already has numerous awards.

One of the most amazing features on the new platform is the two-clutch system. This means the driver can switch off petrol engine in Electric mode. Another clutch smoothens this transition. It also helps efficiency. The Nissan Hi-Cross concept uses LED lamps for the head- and tail lights. The 10-spoke 21-inch wheels are another highlight. Fog lamps are almost invisible on bumpers. The dashboard uses T-wing shape. There is a multi-dimensional gauge cluster, that makes display very futuristic. Also, the center console uses the same design language to complete the same shapes.

The styling of the Nissan Hi-Cross concept is smooth and modern. The V-shape grille is dominating the front fascia. Hood curves continue this language. High body promises good performance off the road. Back of the crossover is similar to the hatchback, with the extended roof spoiler. Furthermore, trapezoidal taillights are aggressive. Then, the interior is roomy and elegant. Door panels in a two-color scheme, with black and white, are very stylish. Seat buckets provide enough room for head, while folding can provide more cargo room.
