One of the best-known Nissan’s hatchbacks, Pulsar, is a matrix for many other vehicles from the same company. One of these is 2017 Nissan Sylphy. Fans know it as Bluebird before 2012. Now, in the third generation, with a new name, it is ready to conquer Far East market. Ever since 2012 and Beijing car show, it was obvious Sylphy is a model for Philippines, Australia, Thailand, and other countries in that region. New vehicle for 2017 suffers modernization, especially in infotainment and safety systems. It is also lighter, due to the usage of aluminum. It drops overall weight but keeping performance at the same level.

The engine of the new 2017 Nissan Sylphy is going to be the same old drivetrain from the previous edition. However, that 1.6-l 4-cylinder unit will get some updates for better output. Another possibility, which fans like the most, is a 1.8-l powertrain. This engine sends power to front wheels through Xtronic CVT. This combo will be enough to produce 130 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque. Some experts believe new sedan will spend 6.4 liters of gas per 100 km. With some upgrades on aerodynamic, this number could be even better. However, designers did a lot with weight drop, and now every move will be an extra gain.

Since this, the third generation of sedan dates back from 2012, the new model is a part of mid-cycle refreshment. It is not going to be surprised if we see a new generation in next couple of years. However, many things depend on 2017 Nissan Sylphy. If this model shows up as a good one, we can expect more changes on the vehicle. For this edition, these are modest. Most of the features on the NissanConnect system are available on higher trims. Base models will have some, but it is far away from the complete impression. Standard model offers 16-inch wheels and halogen headlights. Also, there are silver interior details and fine fabric seats for better comfort and visual appearance.

The 2017 Nissan Sylphy will be out by the end of this year. The units with the 1.8-l engine are available for around $25,000. We still don’t know prices and availability by countries for variants with a smaller engine.
